Pep rallies traditionally take a lot of planning, and this week's prep was no different. It took about two to three weeks for the cheerleaders to plan. “We planned a very fast and upbeat pep rally,” said Kendal Cheney. There was a lot of pink in the gym, including new uniforms, and pink pompoms and bows. “Pink out is one of my favorite performances because we always go all out,” said Cheney.

Hollywood Back in Business
In recent weeks, the entertainment industry has been rocked by the SAG-AFTRA strike, as thousands of actors, voiceover artists, and other performers take an unprecedented stand for their rights and fair treatment. This strike, organized by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), marks a significant moment in the ongoing struggle for better working conditions, compensation, and protection within the entertainment world. Due to the rise in streaming services, actors and writers have experienced pay cuts and unfair treatment on set. On July 14, the Screen Actors Guild- American Federation of Television and Radio Artists better known as SAG-AFTRA banded together for a strike. They began picketing outside of major production companies and asked for a 15% pay increase. When the companies refused the proposition, the guild walked off all sets and officially started their strike. All films associated with the SAG-AFTRA strike halted production and all actors associated with the strike were no longer advertising their work. With their profits dwindling, the alliance of major studios gave the union a final offer. A statement from SAG-AFTRA called the tentative agreement “a deal of extraordinary scope” that is valued at more than $1 billion and includes an increase for pension and health caps, “provisions for consent and compensation that will protect members from the threat of AI,” and a first-ever streaming participation bonus. HOCO Week
Homecoming Parade By Aiden Hastie Homecoming is a time of the year when everyone does their best to stand out. Clubs and extracurriculars work hard on floats each year. There is so much school spirit flowing throughout the halls with all the hallway decorations on the day of the parade. Students and teachers work extremely hard to make sure everything goes swimmingly. They build beautiful floats for the whole town to enjoy and then are judged to see which is the best. The year, JROTC will lead the parade, with our country and state flags in hand. Band will be marching right behind ROTC with their sweethearts, Edgar Alvarado, and Ava Rendon, following behind in a car. The Student Council is looking to win it all with their sweethearts, Tomas Rodelo and Makaya Portillo, and their Crider’s Dancehall themed float. Finally, the theatre department will charm the crowd with their Barbie themed float and their sweethearts, Avery Preston and Aiden Hastie taking the center stage. The parade will start at 6:15pm and travel down Water Street, concluding with a community pep rally in the Schreiner One parking lot.
Proposal Time By Hunter Lott “Will you go to Homecoming with me?” is the most common phrase heard at Tivy this time hear. Students always find extravagant ways to ask their special person to this beloved event. “Just go big or go home,” said Daniel “Dj” Rodarte, who did his Hoco proposal in front of his entire church youth group on the 27th of September. Homecoming happens every year, and the creativity of students will never stop.
Christmas Cheer
“Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night” one of the most well-known quotes fromTim Allen’s Santa Clause. With the Christmas season finally here there has been a huge influx of Christmas movies being watched, but what are the favorite Christmas movies of staff and students here at Tivy? Well, it seems to be that students enjoy more comedic Christmas movies like Elf and The Grinch, while teachers and staff enjoy more family-oriented Christmas movies like Home Alone and A Christmas Story. So as long as there is Christmas spirit there will be Christmas movies. So, grab your snacks, warm pajamas, that special person and enjoy, and remember the best way to spread Christmas cheer is to sing loud for all to hear. By Hunter Lott
